
mum, dad and i finished our road racing season last night with a crit here in traverse city.
i raced in the 4-6 age group and came in about mid pack.
dad won the most spectacular crash award miss judging a turn at 30mph landing in a pile of hay bales. his body and bike fared well only mangling his glasses. he was in a break but got back on his bike and caught the main group.
mum went out way to hard in her race and faded at the finish line. she learned a lot and is ready to train hard for next year.
today they did the leelanau harvest tour. their plan was to ride 100 miles but decided to cut it short and let grandma have a little break so they rode 65 instead. the road bikes are now hanging in the garage and the mountain bikes are ready to go...
