some of his latest obsessions:
- money. specifically the saving of it in his new bank account.
- snakes.
- origami thus the sweet samurai helmets.
- big boy books: beast quest, magic tree house, dinosaur cove, bailey school kids etc
- collecting pop cans to support #1.
good times.

We'll have to check out the Beast quest books. Alex is tearing through the Magic Treehouse and Boxcar children books faster than I imagined. He just started on Dinosaur Cove. He read "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" last week and although he found a lot of it funny I think most of it was over his head so I am encouraging him to wait a while before going on with the rest of the series. I never imagined that in FIRST grade I would already have to be worried about his books being age appropriate.
